Normal wear and tear of our neck joints in daily life can lead to Bony changes or Bony erosion. This condition is arthritis. Arthritic condition along with poor posture causes spurs Off bone that can rob and irritate the surrounding tissues and causes chronic pain, stiffness and decrease range of motion with turning their head and looking up.

When these spurs protrude in the holes on the side of the neck where the nerves exit out(foramen), Or the central spinal cord canal, this is called spinal stenosis. It can cause chronic pain, numbness, and tingling sensation into the arms.

Vertigo is the feeling that the environment around you is spinning in circles. It can make you feel dizzy and off balance.

While both dizziness and Vertigo are considered balance problems, the two symptoms are different. Dizziness is an overall feeling of being unbalanced. With Vertigo, you have a sensation that you are moving or that your surroundings are spinning.

Vertigo can be caused by different underlying diseases and can occur due to calcium crystals that form in the inner ear labyrinth kennel that gives feedback about balance to your brain.

Dizziness can occur due to less mobility of the neck joints and muscles. This lack of mobility causes blockage of major arteries which supplied the back portion of the brain that control balance.

With both the symptoms, patient faces difficulty in moving around for their daily life activities.

How physiotherapy treatment helps

After thorough examination of your balance, visual movements, positioning of head, neck mobility, vestibular system, I will be able to diagnose the exact cause of your dizziness or Vertigo and plan for a customized treatment procedure which may include-

  • Neck mobility exercises
  • balance exercises
  • vestibular exercises to settle calcium deposition in the inner ear and improve your balance system.

An effective and perfect treatment procedure will help you to get back your normal activities off daily life very soon.

A disc in Spine is a jellylike fleet filled SAC that acts as a cushion between the bones of spine or vertebra.

Discs shows signs of wear and tear with age. Overtime, discs dehydrate and their cartilage stiffens. In adults The centre of disc is held in place by many rings. With minor or major injuries, poor posture and strain, these rings can damage allowing a pressure outward of disc centre. Does the disc can begin to bulge, which irritate not roots exiting your spine.

A herniated disc, on the other hand, results when a crack in the outer layer of disc allows some of the softer inner cartilage to protrude out of the disc.

It causes further presses into the space where nerves are exiting. Compared with a bulging disc, a herniated disc is more likely to cause symptoms which include –

  • Localised pen
  • numbness or tingling throughout the arm, solder and hands
  • lack of sensation
  • muscle weakness
  • even paralyses of upper extremity.

How physical therapy treatment helps-

During physiotherapy, first need to determine the affected area by assessing the medical history, testing, X-ray etc. As an expert, I will do your physical assessment in detail about muscle conditions, sensation, strength, mobility etc. After that plan a customized treatment plan as per your need which may include –

  • some advanced manual therapy
  • McKenzie exercises
