PHYSIO BALL EXERCISES

Physio ball is also known as exercise ball, Swiss ball and balance ball. The purpose of the stability ball is to improve balance, muscle tone and core muscle strength. Physioball is filled with air and come in a variety of sizes.

Use of physioball gives us some tremendous results in physiotherapy treatment such as-

  • Improve flexibility- use of Physioball to warm up and stretch your muscles before a workout. improved flexibility can reduce risk of injury and keep your muscle and joints functional.
  • Expand range of motion- physioball can be used to expand range of motion during certain exercises.
  • Strengthening core – when used properly, physioball can strengthen core muscles that is abdominals and lower back. These muscles are used to perform daily activities. A strong core helps to protect the back and stabilise the whole body, including the spine, pelvis, hips and shoulders.
  • Improve balance- simply sitting on of Physio ball and doing some movements engages the stabiliser muscles in core area. Training on a ball forces the body to improve balance and can also be beneficial in keeping a healthy posture.
